RetroFreedom is a no-nonsense, no-bullshit company selling retro videogame systems modified with the following goals in mind:

I, Leah Rowe, the person doing these mods, want to provide an honest, professional service at a reasonable price. I try to provide the best possible quality, both in terms of products and customer services. This website is designed simply, since I’m only interested in providing quality hardware.

I want you, the customer, to re-live your childhood to the fullest, assured that you are receiving a high quality product built to last. I also provide a 2 year warranty on all orders. I also want to make these systems accessible to younger audiences who never knew the joy of these older machines.

I sell the following consoles:

I’m quite handy with a soldering iron and I possess a great deal of knowledge. I tend to study the hardware that I sell for a long time before selling it, so that I can offer more than your usual run of the mill modding service; for instance, modchips aren’t the only mods that I provide on the PS1. I’m not simply pulling a bunch of systems and haphazardly soldering them up and then selling them, like you see on ebay; no, I take the time to do the job properly. You can see for yourself the quality of my work on the product pages, as I host detailed photos on all of them. I try to be as transparent as possible.

My motivation in starting this company is simply to be the best, while not charging an arm and a leg. I see so many sub-standard modders out there selling their systems for cheap… conversely, I see highly competent modders ripping people off by grossly over charging. I price my systems such that I’m making roughly 10 GBP per hour; this is a reasonable wage for me, as I’m only doing this for fun. I have a great passion in what I do; I’m not aiming to stack them high and sell them cheap. I already have another income source, so RetroFreedom is simply a passion that I indulge on the side.
